Dr. Vanessa O. Hall Johnson is to be commended for the success of our E.S.T.E.A.M. (self Esteem, Science, Technology Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Summer Camp program for middle school girls.

In June 2015, Dr. Johnson also established our Community Food Program for children ages 5-18.

The E.S.T.E.A.M. After School program will be held at Bennett’s Mill Middle School and will service boys and girls grades 6, 7 and 8th grades.

The After School program will include tutoring.

E.S.T.E.A.M. is an innovative and enriching summer camp for Middle School girls. While the camp has an academic focus, it is presented to campers in a hands on approach which includes self-esteem classes, the arts, field trips, and speakers who introduce each career and share real life experiences in their field. Campers will also improve their presentation and math skills by focusing on the areas where they are the weakest. Doing research and learning more about E.S.T.E.A.M. will hopefully encourage campers to pursue careers in these fields.
